{"id":16100,"date":"2024-04-15T11:25:49","date_gmt":"2024-04-15T11:25:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.vernicostugs.gr\/web\/?p=16100"},"modified":"2024-04-15T11:29:03","modified_gmt":"2024-04-15T11:29:03","slug":"vernicos-scafi-returns-to-turkish-shipyard-for-more-tug-newbuildings","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.vernicostugs.gr\/web\/vernicos-scafi-returns-to-turkish-shipyard-for-more-tug-newbuildings\/","title":{"rendered":"Vernicos Scafi returns to Turkish shipyard for more tug newbuildings"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"wpb-content-wrapper\"><p>[vc_row css_animation=&#8221;&#8221; row_type=&#8221;row&#8221; use_row_as_full_screen_section=&#8221;no&#8221; type=&#8221;full_width&#8221; angled_section=&#8221;no&#8221; text_align=&#8221;left&#8221; background_image_as_pattern=&#8221;without_pattern&#8221;][vc_column][vc_column_text]Greek-Italian tug and salvage company brings the number of newbuildings it has ordered in Turkey to three<\/p>\n<p>Seven months after taking delivery of its first newbuilding, Vernicos Scafi Tugs &amp; Salvage booked two more tugs at its favourite Turkish shipyard.<\/p>\n<p>The Greek-Italian tug and salvage company expects Eregli\u2019s Med Marine Shipyard to deliver the first unit able to deliver more than 80 tons of bollard pull in September and the second in March next year.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe continue our expansion \u2026 strengthening further the relationship of trust with Med Marine Shipyard, by reaching three orders in less than a year,\u201d director Dimitris Vernicos said.<\/p>\n<p>Vernicos Scafi Tugs &amp; Salvage is part of the Med Tugs consortium that is active in Greece and other regions in the Eastern Mediterranean with a fleet of 49 tug boats.<\/p>\n<p>Its newbuildings are part of a long-term strategy of consolidation in the regional tug and salvage scene, in which Vernicos Scafi has been one of the most active drivers via a series of mergers and joint ventures in recent years.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cVernicos Scafi follows its investment plan that will further strengthen its position and will certainly add value to the fleet of our joint venture in Med Tugs,\u201d Vernicos said.<\/p>\n<p>No price details on the newbuildings were announced.<\/p>\n<p>Vernicos Scafi describes them as \u201cone of the most versatile ASD tug design for ship-handling, coastal towing, general purpose or escort duties \u2026 to provide both high-quality harbour and deepsea towage services\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>They will also come equipped with a firefighting system, allowing them to provide oil recovery and escort services.<\/p>\n<p>Eregli Shipyard is part of Turkey\u2019s Med Marine Group.
